Left 4 Dead

Quote:
You might not think about team-based online multiplayer going hand-in-hand with "survival horror" games--games like the Resident Evil series that give you only limited resources while pitting you against legions of horrible monsters, often in cramped confines. After all, classic survival horror games are usually single-player experiences because they're about your character being all alone in a hostile, zombie-filled world. But Turtle Rock Studios, a developer with credits that include Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and the Xbox version of Counter-Strike, is doing just that with Left 4 Dead. This new team-based game for the PC and Xbox 360 pits small teams of humans against "the infected," which are hordes of ordinary people transformed into mindless killing machines by a mysterious virus that has spread throughout the game's various environments. We sat down with Turtle Rock's Michael Booth to get the first details.

Man this sounds interesting..

Just read about this last night in the latest PC gamer, and saw a trailer they showed at CES for it. I cannot wait for this game to come out. Really interesting concept, with an awesome setting/genre (my favorite...zombies!). Brings me back to when I used to play the zombie mod servers for CS......but this looks tons better.

Now if I can just have a chainsaw for a hand to fight the zombies with, this game would be perfect.

Its got to surpass dead risings zombie brillaince to make me a believer which i might add is getting a sequel! But it differently has the ability to full some pretty big gamer needs with zombie killing fests.

I don't know, I think that sounds like it'll be awesomely fun. Like Night of the Living Dead or 28 Days Later.

Wow that does sound exciting! And its weird cause i think i'v heard about something like this a fear years ago.. >.< Maybe its just my imagination!

was there some kind of resident evil like this? where you play multiplayer online and try to survive, as they are talking about in this game??

Cause i swear i had a friend tell me about something like this... But that was a few years ago! ^_^

Anyway yeah, i so want to play it. It sounds so fun, I cant decide which side i would want to play. I guess the game goes on until the survivors die or something?? Or until they reach a certain point.. Cause the zombies will always respawn! :P

Damn i wanna play this!!

When Dead Rising was coming out, I was hoping it would have similar multiplayer action. A group of friends joining up and trying to make it out alive. I was contemplating some idea's then, such as.. say for example if your in a group and trying to get out of the city and you get bitten. You fail to cure yourself in time and you become a zombie (depending on how much your bitten effects the time it takes to turn into a zombie). If you become a zombie, you can still participate in the action.. but your trying to kill your friends instead of trying to help them escape. Sounded.. sort of fun to me lol.

I do like the Source Engine. Half-Life 2 rocked the house, and hopefully they use the engine to it's full potential. Sounds like it's going to be an interesting game.
