Oh and the story mode in SC2 was way better than that POS one in SC3.
I mean, honestly, did anyone acctually play through the entire turn-based strategy campaign?

I decided not to pick up SC3. My friends did however, and I did have a chance to play VS.

SC3 arcade version is actually better then the console version and the fact that they released the console version before the arcade is so incredibly backwards! I mean the arcade version is released and played to clean up any bugs before the console.

/Second res for this thread.
I thought I would be more pumped for this release, but I'm really not feeling it.
I'll probably pick it up in a few weeks anyways.

I am not a big fan of the series because I am a big fan of Dead or Alive or Tekken (Anything after Tekken Tag was just a waste). I think that it is stupid that you can only unlock certain characters on certain systems. That just ruins it for me.

I'm also a fan of Dead or Alive and Tekken, but I still love Soul Caliber. It's just a great fighting game. Sure, I still prefer Dead or Alive, but since DOA5 is not on the horizon and probably never will be, SC4 is still a game I am looking forward to.

As for the different characters on different systems, you can probably download them at some point--at least that's what I heard. And it also makes people want to buy both copies of the game, or at least different copies to get who they prefer more. I for one think it's ingenious.

I kinda like it. Lengthens that console rift, and anything that can separate me and the Sony squad from 360 fanbois is good in my book (j/k j/k ).
I personally prefer Soul Caliber to all other fighting games. It's probably because it's so easy to pick up and play though (and I'm a beast at guard impacts), I bought Virtua Fighter 5 for the PS3 and found I'm pretty terrible at those super technical fighters, and I don't really enjoy them enough to invest a huge amount of time in them.

I know what you mean :P I think I am better at Soul Caliber than those technical fighters, but I am still a beast at DOA, just because I played it religiously for years now. In DOA online I was B+ most of the time, because I kept getting unlucky against other B's -_-' We were basically even, but they went to A's while I stayed in the B's...stupid sudden death final rounds.

Soul Caliber is great because each weapon has it's own strength and weaknesses, just as it should be. If I have a spear and you have daggers, the fight will basically be decided on who can stay in their comfort zone, and of course, who is better. Stuff like that makes me squeal with delight.

And the characters all look really bad ass, there's always that too (except Maxi and Raphael, of course).

Can't wait, I'm still pissed that I can't play Vader just because I have a 360. LAME. DOA4 is probably my favorite fighting game, depending how good Street Fighter 4 is.
