Oblivion

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for Xbox 360 or PC is probobly the most cutting edge, freerange, open ended RPG ive ever played. unlimited possibilities, great graphics, and a full collection of over 1,000 characters all with 24/7 schedules of their own.

I highly recommend buying this game

Been a fan of the 'The Elder Scrolls' series since I played Morrowind.

PC is the only way to play them... for the mods.

I was very dissapointed with the game to be honest. The main plot was interesting but quite short. Using the ability to teleport from town to town also made walking obsolete. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, this game just made me an unhappy camper.

You're the only person to ever tell me that they would rather walk from city to city on that game.

For me the game turned repetitive VERY quickly. The skills were uneventful, and you normally used the same one over and over. The battles all seemed the same and repetitive. but the most ANNOYING part...

Start fight*

*attack attack, get hit get hit*
*Pause*
*Potion*
*unpause*
*attack attack, get hit get hit*
*pause*
*mana potion, and health potion*
*unpause and get hit instantly*
*back to the inventory to use another potion*

Omg that got on my nerves very quickly.

I must admit, I was very dissapointed at this too.

I did enjoy the side quests, like the assassins and theives guilds but I hated the combat with a passion. To me it was slash, then run away, slash, then run away, potion (rinse and repeat).

It frustrated me so much that I broke one of my gaming rules: never use cheat codes until after you've completed it once. I was so sick of levelling lock picking and the combat that i cheated to make it more bearable.

Dispite all that, the graphics and atmosphere was very good too.

Elder Scrolls was a good series. My personal favorite was Morrowind. But I agree on the Combat system. The open ended part of Morrowind and Oblivion was what I enjoyed most I guess. I loved killing whoever I wanted to,whenever I wanted to.

Well you've all made me feel much better about not playing this one! I LOVED Morrowind and was dying to play Oblivion but never really had the time when it came out. Then time dragged on and it kinda became old news to me but I always wondered about it.

I'd have to say that as excruciating as the walking was between the towns in Morrowind, I'd welcome the teleport option in the new game. I don't think it would deter gamers like me from exploring though. I loved Morrowind because of the huge environment and the nooks and crannies you could find. The teleport would just help when I'm on a mission to get done.
