MASS EFFECT came out today.

I forgot to get it, not to mention I had the day off. Funny I had that feeling all day I was forgetting to do something.

There is a (from what I've heard) great book prequel-ling this title. I haven't given myself the time to read it yet.

Did anyone pick this up? Or at least is interested in this game.

Well, I just completed my first mission... off the Citadel.

So far, I'm loving it.

The combat system is just awesome (I'm a soldier this time around), and I use Wrex (Biotic/Combat) and Garrus (Combat/Tech) most times. Their AI is actually pretty good, they'll use a lift attack, and I just have to gun the guys down, or they'll lift a guy right out of his cover. The enemies will do the same thing, and it's really challenging, as you will die a few times.

The storyline is awesome too, I read the book before the game, so it gave a bit of a better idea on it. After the first hour, I was into it.

The exploring is fun, you can go around the galaxy, pick a sector, and a planet. There's a selected number that you can land on, others you can scan and get minerals and stuff for the Alliance. When you can land on one, you take your Mako and drive around, you can basically go anywhere, over mountains, hills, until you find some enemies or a goal of some sort.

The dialogue system gets you more into the game, you can threaten people (pull your gun out on 'em), try to charm them, or just choose a different option, any way, it flows very well. Oh, and the line you select may sound a bit cheesy, but the way your character actually says it, it comes out sounding very nicely.

The graphics are overall good, just a few texture pop ups here and there are out of place. It's probably one of the best looking games I've played.

Is it true that you can manipulate the ground below you and dig under buildings and what not? Someone that beta tested the game from my local gamestop said so.

Picked this up this weekend...

Game is great...reminds me very much of KotR, bit different in the combat with the fps edge to it, but not difficult at all to aim and shoot.

Only part of the game im not that fond of is the driving part after you land on a planet, kinda lame and bad controls.

Story line thus far is great, and can definitely see myself playing it again to do some "evil" answers and such
