Dunno, is that the new 80GB version?

If I remember correctly the 80GB version needs to use emulation for backward compatible games, 40GB doesn't have backward compatibility at all and 60GB has full backward compatiblity to all games.

Even with Metal Gear 4 I'd still buy a 60GB if that 80GB needs emulation software and is not 100% compatible to all the old PS1/2 games.

well its fully compatible. obviously not every ps/ps2 games in the world will be able to be played like the 60G.
i think its hella worth it.
it comes with the DS3 too.

360 is cheaper then the PS3, one of the bigger reasons why I got it. It has some good games on it, but a lot of games are cross-platform anyhow. So right now, there's little reason for me to pick up a PS3. I like Metal Gear, but not enough for me to go out and get one. Also, I have a 360 because I have friends come over and we usually co-op some games. That's a little difficult with PC's unless you plan on having a lan party, but if I'm going to do that I might as well as just play online.

Well the 360 had a year and half ahead of PS3 to getgames out, 360 also started slow when it released
