Ninja Gaiden II

Anyone else pick this up? Fantastic slice-and-dice game overall I think, though there are some things that kinda get annoying fast. Fun weapons/combos and great scenery and visuals. The camera views could be tweeked a bit but thats just me. I give it a solid 8.5/10.

It's pretty awesome so far. :O

I was hoping for the toned down platforming to not be.. as toned down. Ninja Gaiden Black's platforming got annoying after a while, but I was hoping it wouldn't be this nonexistent (I'm not even past chapter one yet, just initial impressions). That's about it for my complaints. :O

oh yeah!~!! i completely forgot about this game!
I spent a week straight in Ninja Gaiden trying to kill that huge pink b*tch.
After that it was smoooth sailing for me.
I'm going to have to go pick this up or rent it in the next few days. Thanks for the reminder

edit: how is the difficulty? is there normal and hard?

Bahahaha I bet you got Ninja Dog on every level you passed. That game is epic, and I can't wait to pick up the sequel.

The fact that it's a hard game has been a major part of it's appeal since the very first Ninja Gaiden on the NES (not sure about how hard the arcade one was, as I wasn't alive to play it).

yea, I chose the lower of the two difficulties (normal/acolyte and hard/warrior) just because of how notorious these games are for that, and it is a challenge, but not so much so that it seems impossible. you get shredded once and a while but it still gives you that feeling of 'oh i know i can do this'.

I chose acolyte just to start with, and so far, I've only ever died against the chapter 2 boss. And only once.

It's hard enough to where I have to pay attention and do things tactfully, but I still don't get constantly blown away by the difficulty.

Did you hear that Itagaki quit Temco after ninja gaiden 2 was release? He began to believe that the company wasn't meeting his expectation.

All I have to say about this is that, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Mass Effect are the only games I am jealous I can't get on my PS3. Thankfully Mass Effect is coming for the PC but my computer would likely explode so I am still out of luck.
