Alone in the Dark

Been playing this for the last two days and I'm slowly nearing the end.

IGN gave it a shockingly low score of 3.5 out of 10. After playing it I'm still stumped as too why.

Yes, there are the occasional glitches and some of the parts are extremely long... but other than that I see no other problems.

- The graphics are quite impressive while retaining great fps.
- The music is downright epic.
- The scenery is spooky and the sounds really make you question your surroundings as you sit in your living room playing... at 2 in the morning.

- The storyline is good and it throws you right into the game from the start.
- There are definitely some challenging parts (puzzles, battles, etc) rather than making it an easy walk through.
- The physics and lack of a HUD make gameplay very interesting.

Biggest complaints I've gotten have been difficulty (?) and controls.

Discuss or the cat gets it!

Hunglo will destroy you if anything happens to that cat.

Also, are we talking about the ORIGINAL Alone in the Dark? Or some new one?

Alone in the Dark that was released June 24 for the XBox 360. Should of specified which one in the title but seeing how it's a new release I just assumed people would think the obvious.

Alone in the Dark was originally a game played on floppys, so it kind of confused me

Well this one is the Atari resurrection. Been a lot of hype around this. Surprised you never heard they were remaking it

Imho that's a big reason why the low score, it's a remake of an old game the idea of remakes is to make them better, looks good but it was overdone with all the options (jeez a game with TOO many options?) and still too short.
