Diablo 3 Officially Announced

Even if the necro is gone, the Witch doctor looks pretty kick ass. Zombie wall FTW! And I love the possibilities with the Havoc engine. Anyone else been listening to Deckard's Journal?

Yea, I had to watch all the videos over again to refresh my memory heheh.
I also decided to boot up my old computer to get at my original Diablo file. The game came with a trailer for the original Diablo and Starcraft, so I think I'll check those out.
Might even play through again .

Did anyone else love the feel to D1 more than D2 (although I spent much more time on D2)? The concept of finding spells and the gritty feeling of the game is something I miss from D1. Anyway, the game looks good and looks to be a whole lot of fun.

I agree with you. I played through D2 once, ran around the MP ladder a little and gave it away to a friend. I know it was a huge hit but I certainly didn't 'get' the game.

I cant wait for it. I hope the witchdoctor doesnt take over the necromancer class tho. Necro was my favorite class with a close sorc and barb for second.

I played D2 from release until a few years after the expansion :3. It's unfathomable how much time was spent playing D2 in my youth.

I Have Always Loved Diablo Games and can't wait for this one to come out. It Looks Amazing!!!! I really want to know what all the classes they are going to be bringing back.

From the sounds of all these replies, I think I must be the only person bemused by all the hype.

I played a little of Diablo I for the first time a couple of years ago (after it was dated) and a little of Star Craft I a few years ago (also after it was dated) and so I feel quite out of the loop. I was always a big fan of the Warcraft series more than anything so when WoW was released I was mega pumped.

Diablo III does look pretty cool, but do I have to have loved the first 2 to appreciate the 3rd? From a non Diablo fanboi perspective, it doesn't look that special. Quite pretty, but not particularly innovative, an updated Baldurs gate or Gauntlet for example?

Just throwing this out there. I've got an open mind and I'll keep following it to see if all the hype sucks me in.

Well pani you have a better jump on Diablo 1 and 2 better than me I have never played either one before...don't hurt me diablo fans*runs for cover*
