i have a DS and i love it, the Nintendo WiFi Connection is a nice feature, it lets you play supported games over the net. Also its two handhelds in one, so if you ever get the urge to play one of your favorite GBA games you can on the same hardware! Further more, the DS has a longer battery life than the psp, and the DS has no moving parts, so its not going to stop working if you drop it or somthing.
And for the PSP fanbois who like to say "Get the PSP, it has the best graphics, and it can play movies and mp3s and you can use the internet on it.", the DS can do the same as well. so dont just get a PSP because it can play movies. |

Im gonna go ahead and express my PSP fanboi and say get the PSP cause it owns. There is one problem. That thing is a brick unless you get it modded. Once you do that, you will find so many fun applications and cool homebrew games itll make your head spin. What I mean is since my cell phone sucks I get IMs on my PSP and can respond to them. Also DS isn't the only one that can play GBA games. There are NES, SNES, GBC/GBA, PSX and N64 emulators that can be used on a PSP. Also you can download ISO's or PSP games so you never have to buy a single game (whoops thats illegal!).
I can go on about the beauty of a modded PSP but that would consume this whole dam page so ill stop here. Go with a PSP if you can get it modded. |

Both have there ups a downs. DS definitely has more games compared to the PSP (as well as it's share of extremely addictive games) but, honestly, the PSP wins in my book.
a) The screen is in HD and looks beautiful. For the new Slims you can also buy HD RCA cables to hook it up to your TV. Games, Movies, and even uploaded videos/pictures look stunning for such a small screen. b) If you have a PS3 you can synch your PSP to it. Not having a PS3 myself, I haven't been able to go into depth on this feature but I've heard interesting things. c) Software; jebus christ there is a ridiculous amount of software out there for the PSP. Everything from emulators, custom UIs, interface apps, and I've even come across software that turns your PSP into a universal remote. I'll probably add a lot more onto this in the morning but it's a good start. No offense to the DS, but there is just far more you can do with a PSP. ![]()

The PSP definitely wins in the versatility department. Mine can turn my rooms lights on and off, heheh (seriously).
But if you're just going vanilla, the only thing I can suggest is to look at the game libraries of both systems and choose the handheld that hosts more of your favorite games.
