If ppl bought the Wii expecting heavy action, graphically games, then you should have gotten a PS3 or 360, Wii is not about the graphics but about the human activity with the game, about physical fun over mental fun.
Not to mention that the gaming industry has been used to the normal type of games for over a decade, then suddenly drop a new motion technology on them isn't easy to develop games for it, eventually "popular" titles will appear on the Wii. Like any new technology, it won't have a big impact for years when manufacturers get used to them and work around them.

Nintendo manages with what they have. People's expectations were tempered somewhat by Microsoft's and Sony's presentations; having a glut of games to showcase from a myriad array of developers can go a long way in bolstering a platform's strength and credibility.
Yet, that's not Nintendo's strongpoint. Granted, individual software titles can certainly define how a platform performs within the market. However, Nintendo has continued to stress that that strategy is not one that they are employing. Rather, they are attempting to bridge the gap between younger and older generations of video gamers by introducing simplistic hardware that enables a higher degree of interactivity. Ultimately, the objective of Nintendo is to usher in a new era of console gaming in which an individual who has never touched a game controller can pick up a Wiimote (or any other peripheral) and be able to play with little instruction. While I commend Nintendo for their efforts, I can see how this mindset can ruffle the feathers of gamers who simply wish to see an enhanced library of games that can furnish the Wii with some much-needed content (me included). |

See Einer, that's the bullshit they keep feeding us.
Ninendo didn't promote connectivity through the Wii at any of their showings this year, this connectivity between generations is only a watery concept they keep throwing around. If their software and hardware can't promote this, then really Nintendo is just tossing around this phrase haphazardly in an attempt to redeem themselves from their terrible third party library and ultimately, the unintuitive nature of their controller. Light guns have been doing it for years, granted they brought it to a home console but it's not so much the fact that they did that made the console popular, but the fact that they launched it right after the mainstreaming of the videogame industry (previous generation). While I have to admit this is a ballsy move, yet if one is competent enough to learn several actions bound to a few different buttons the Wii brings nothing practical to the table. Hell, I bought my little brother, who's 6, Battlefield: Bad Company for his Birthday two weeks ago. He had never played an FPS before, and has almost no experience with the PS3, yet within a few hours he was running around shooting the bad guys (granted on easy, but still my point stands). The fact of the matter is that anyone, anyone can play almost any console game. The Wii is just a testament to the fact that they're unwilling to learn. Looking past the fancy gyroscope, and the connectivity, the Wii brings nothing new to the table besides just another way to manipulate the masses.

Nintendos presntation was complete bullshit, there is a reason im selling my Wii. My 360 PS3 and PC OVERLY serve me well then anything I have come to expect out of the Wii.
The Wii is NOT for games, its a toy that you use to play Wii Sports on and jump around, and its killing the hardcore game market. |
