I ran into this in the Ruins of Anlec PQ in the Shadowlands last night.

I had that glitch happen to me in closed beta. All chosens looked like spiders. To fix this, you need to find the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Yeah this was the only time I've seen it. It was just really funny to have "Nagarythe Warrior flees in terror" and then see it start stretching and flailing its arms and legs around before dying.
