Building a New PC

Hey. I want to build myself a new PC for WAR (my current one does not meet the minimum requirements). However, it'll be my first time, so before I go and buy parts and realize that something isn't compatible with something else I thought it'd be a good idea to come here and ask for some help. If there are any better parts you know of for about the same price, or if any of my parts just won't work with something else, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help.

First and foremost, if this is your first build, find a friend that knows how to do it (some one that can come to your house) to help walk you through it and can help you troubleshoot it. (Thinks back to Venom's box and all of the long nights till 2 30 am).

Second, and most will echo me on this, Get a decent, well known PSU. The ones that come with cases are almost always garbage and not worth getting. They will have low efficiency and a higher probability of going bad than a brand such as Corsair or Antec. A PSU going bad is the worst piece of hardware that can go bad. Trust me, when if your whole box ever gets friend because of your PSU, you'll feel the same way, haha.

Other than that, the build looks alright. I would also suggest 4 Gigs of ram, since ram is cheaper than dirt it seems. (2x2gig sticks) Trust me, with Vista, and upcoming games, you'll use all of that. And with that you'll need to go with the 64 bit version of Vista.

I also encourage you to look into the 4870s. They absolutely blow the competition away right now in terms of price/performance ratio. They are a little bit more than what you got, but you'll get more use out of it before it becomes obsolete.

All right, so, following some of that advice, here's what I changed (I didn't change to the 4870 because I read about some nasty problems with overheating...if these problems are groundless or easily fixed tell me, but the stories made me uneasy about using it). I used orange text for changed items.

If you have a little extra

Newegg.com - OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI 700W ATX12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V - Power Supplies

Has a rebate that lowers the price to $79.99.

Things I see missing:
-Sounds card (thinking you're gonna use the mobo integrated one)
-DVD player/burner
-Cooling compound for the CPU/Heatsink

And also while installing Vista, do it with only 1 RAM stick, it goes stupid with 2 and won't install, after installation shut it down and put the 2nd one.
