Hey everyone, im wanting to upgrade my computer for WAAGH!


Current rig:
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3

System Manufacturer: BIOSTAR Group

System Model: P4M90-M4

BIOS: Ver:1.0

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)

Memory: 2046MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c

Card name: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series

Is it a Brand PC or someone built it?

If Brand, put in the company that made it and model, if built by someone else, then we could use power supply information.

Someone built my pc awhile back, but im not sure how to find my power supply info.

What upgrades do you think I need, im on a limited budget but I can eventually get as much money as needed.

Technically your PC is decent, could probably use a hard drive format since it's a tad old (going by the CPU being a Pentium 4), but I would increase the RAM to 3gigs and a video card upgrade, due to now knowing how big your case is, trowing a Geforce8 series car is out of the question.

Now WAR requirements are not that huge compared to other mmo's and games out there, but you do need a complete system upgrade at some point. The reason I say that is that the motherboard can only use socket 475 which has very little upgrade ability and can only use 4gigs of RAM capped, at the current state of gaming, 4gigs is the "optimal" for new games like AoC, Crysis and whatnot.

With technology changing so fast, good parts are actually becoming cheap, and Pwnzilla has made some good $500~ templates.

If you decide to simply upgrade what you have then you could use:

Heh sorry, had a massive siege in DAoC all afternoon/night, couldn't log in it.

We made a VN post to anger the albs to come to mid, 4h later albs had nott port, hibs were working on hlid, and albs had glen and fens port cut, bled port kept opening and closing. And then later in the night albs took bled, spent all early morning taking stuff back

I didn't see the post on VN or hear about it but I was in the Alb romp through Midville until we got to Hlid and 10,000 Mids smushed us. Like frikken ants... Not much of a challenge for mids when they are all RR8 and up with three times the players, takes a real player to be an Alb and fight for everything you have. Let's don't even speak of the Hibs which are just Mids in drag. LOL
Jeez I hope the balance in WAR is better than DAOC. But, this will be the last week I play DAOC, I hope, for awhile or ever...
