Well I don't know if by war's site you mean "www.warhammeronline.com" but yeah I can't ping that site at all with neither my computer nor my room-mate computer. I also tried "www.worldofwarcraft.com" just for the heck of it and it didn't work either on neither computer.

I just tried our forum doh on my computer and hers and results are similar but I tempt to get bigger jump to like 1 sec every now and then I'm guess signals just gets bounce by the walls in my case. I left the ping run on "www.legionofsteel.org" for less then a minute and I got that result on my computer :

Ping statistics for 216.227.219.33 :

Packets: Sent = 91, Received = 91, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate roud trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 64ms, Maximum = 1062ms, Average = 89ms

That's not bad.

But it sounds like you have a very disorganized mesh of network in your place with so many routers and obstacles between wireless devices.

Ok well here's more spec about the 2 routers we are using :

D-Link Ethernet Broadband router
Model no : Dl-604 E1

Linksys Wireless-G 2.4Ghz 54Mbps
Model no : WRT54G v5
We don't have the gamer's edition

I talked to my room-mate yesterday night... the one that knows more about network and computer.

Reason we don't have any key setup is that his laptop has problem keeping a stable connection with it. He manage to get the internet for 5 minutes then he gets kicked off again. His been checking every now and then and there's no IP accept our own accessing the router.... I don't think he has any plan to get a protection up again like that until we actually start having a problem.

Reason we have 2 routers instead of only one. Back in the days we only had the wireless router setup but my computer and his computer seemed to have problem trying to access the same ports with the wireless router. We were kicking each other off when we were both playing WoW so he put the 2 routers up.

Now, we're considering 3 options to try to fix up the problem.

1) Get a better wireless router that he can actually configure to work better and do the job solo for all computers.

2) Considering another option that would allow me to get a more stable Internet connection which would consist of a technology with working the signals through the electricity wires of the house from the Public room to my room. I don't know the name of that technology by heart and I don't have time to find it before going to work. It was the first time I heard of it yesterday.

3) Getting my own Internet connection. Way more costly to set up then the 2 previous options and also more month costly.

1.- Best option.
2.- New and flawed technology, the concept is good but the first thing they teach you in cabling class for networks is never run the net wire next an electric cable because it disrupts the signal.
3.- Leave it as very last option.

With some routers you can even setup priorities, so if your roommate is downloading something and no one else is on, he gets max bandwidth, but if you or someone else gets on and loads a game, you can have the priority give the game more bandwidth and less to the download so it doesn't hinder the gamers, and when you turn your pc off, the down loader gets max bandwidth again.

A few things you might want to consider checking...

Wireless interference from other peoples routers or even people hoovering etc.., like you mentioned you are seeing other peoples routers sometime. Try changing the wireless channel the router is on, usually move 2 channels at a time so if you on 6 try 4 or 8.

If your friend has trouble connecting and doesnt want to implement security, try and see if you have the option to disable Broadcast SSID, this means it wont broadcast the router name so others wont see it to access it.

I did see your highest ping was over 1000ms thats not good, it was obviously intermitant as your average ping was 89ms. You may want to check how much stuff you actually have connecting to your laptop over the network. Open a command prompt (just type cmd then hit return in search under vista or click run and type cmd then hit return in XP) when you get the black command prompt screen type 'netstat -an' then hit return (don't type the ' quotes). If you get say more than 15 items listed as ESTABLISHED, its probably worth doing an anti-spyware scan.

It could also be the way your ISP is routing traffic, I have seen cases here in the UK where an ISP was routing traffic through a bad node. Pick a site that you seem to struggle with and again open the command prompt as described above and this time type 'tracert www.cnn.com' replace the cnn with the IP or site you want to check the routing to. It will return each hop it makes showing the route it is taking to get to that site/IP. if you notice high timing i.e 200ms+ constantly on the same address it maybe due to poor traffic routing and your traffic is going thru a bad node on the internet. Contact your ISP and get them to clarify the node, they can do a ripe query and contact the node sysadmin.

Sorry for the War and Peace epic novel, but I hope it helps!

LOL thanks for trying to help me but well except for that part I didn't understood most of the rest . Even that well being French and reading just the start of the sentence and assuming the rest I was getting freaked up with the list of items I got when I was reading only "more than 15 items listed". Yeah I got more then 15 a lot more... but not that many "as ESTABLISHED".

Anyway, trying to find an anti-spyware able to clear the few ESTABLISHED I've got to try to get the list cleaner... UP to now the few anti-spyware I've tried mainly free tryout for now haven't found anything. Not the best either to not know what the best anti-spyware are out there but not really interested at paying 50$ for a program that I don't know much about. I knew MCAfee back in the days and Norton and well the few sites I've visited that compare products never really quote those 2 as really great for their prices now-a-days. It also doesn't really help that each freaking website that compare anti-spyware&anti-virus software never conclude to the same thing. I was using AVG as of now and well it wasn't detecting anything but yeah it's free also. I heard you talk about Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 also on another topic I'll probably give it a try to their free-trial after if VIPRE doesn't find anything either with a full scan. If they don't find anything on my system I don't see any point on spending money on any of them .

Anyway, I'll do anything I can right now to try to get a better connection before the HS I'm also happy there's an open beta which will allow me more free testing time.

Thinking maybe moving a bit my wireless router from where it's located right now since it's right next to the other router and there's a bunch of wire behind. Don't know if it might help out to do that.

EDIT : Well VIPRE full scan just finished and nothing found except 1 low risk cookie . Gonna try Kaspersky but I think it's gonna be the last scan for tonight I'm getting tired of doing that.

By the sounds of it, it's not a spyware/adware problem. Do the people on the wired connections experience any problems?
If they do it might be a routing or line problem, if not will probably be a interference problem, try changing the wireless channel of the router and see if that improves it.

ok picky could u totally remove your router out of the equationa and get a extension cable from the main router <the 3rd port which urs is taking atm>

i had to fit a 5 metre extesion into my room for my modem

i know u can get 7 metre cables premade from pc world

the plug thing sounds good but they werent cheap last time i looked at them but they do work well it would be your best cableless option

direct cable just need sum1 that can use a drill and hammer for 15 mins to make the modifications and route it for you uness ofc ur happy to do ur own diy

hope that helps alittle

I'm probably going to give a try out to the plug thing on Monday-Tuesday see if it works. My room-mate's father uses that and he will lend it to us probably during those days so we can see if it fixes the problem I have. I have good download and upload speed it's just that it's not stable enough... I keep getting DC on vent and DC in game and that's kinda annoying. Sometimes it seems better then other times but yeah I just want to get something that work better I don't really mind spending money as long as it's not a fortune. I could probably go up to 200$ easy for something that works perfectly if I can find something that works as I want.

That technology is only 120$ which if it works I would actually consider cheap for fixing the headaches that problem causes me right now. You can find it for cheaper but I wouldn't care paying that price.

If that technology doesn't do the job I'll probably ask for some help for a better wireless router with more then 4 ports. But I don't need that help yet. There's no way I can run a cable from my computer in my room to the router so we forget that option... my room-mate would kill me if she saw a wire going all the place. There's no easy way to pass a cable from my room to where the router is at the moment.
