4.1 GHz Dual-Core CPU for only $130

Those who first break this bit of news to their circles of friends can count on some surprised looks - in fact, they might even find their credibility getting questioned! But it is true: a cheap CPU that costs $130 outperforms the fastest processors from AMD (Athlon 64 FX-60) and Intel (Pentium Extreme Edition 965), each of which costs over $1,000.

We bought an Intel Pentium D 805 from a local retail outlet and overclocked it up to 4.1 GHz, even though this part runs by default at just 2.66 GHz. This represents a heretofore unattained clock rate increase of just over 54 %, for which only some additional cooling is required. The secret is in the FSB clock rate, which is raised from 133 MHz to over 200 MHz; the system remains completely stable, because modern motherboards with Intel 9xx chipsets are laid out to handle FSB clock rates of up to 266 MHz. In language that overclocking enthusiasts will love to hear, the Pentium D 805 ascends to the throne as the new King of overclocking, knocking out the AMD Opteron 144.
Just found out about this CPU, it's actually 119 bucks at newegg now. This CPU might make me want to jump over to Intel side, not sure yet tho. AMD put forth their AM2 CPUs yesterday, so will have to check that out as well.

This is some serious beast ona budget, I'm very very tempted to try it out.

What would be a solid budget mobo for this cpu?
Budget as in one that can handle PCI-Express at least.

Will get back to you on this one tomorrow as I'm headed for bed now. I spent a lot of time searching for 'budget' mobo to go with this CPU, but I couldn't really find 'budget" one, I think the cheapest solid mobo that for this CPU that would actually allow you to overclock it decently is little over 100 bucks, which is not TOO bad, but it's defenitly not a budget mobo considering the price of the CPU.

Overclock? Oh I see.
Personally I wouldnt be overclocking it to 4.1GHz or anything like that. Possibly a small OC to like.. 3GHz. I dont have good cooling either, as Ive heard the 805D gets especially hot when overclocked.

Which mobo for $100 are you referring to?

Yeah, I wouldn't be pushing it to 4.1GHz as well. I was thinking about 3.3GHz since you can get that with stock voltage and cooling w/out problem.

I was considering two of them
ASUS board for $120

and

Gigabyte for $99

That's if you are not planning on going with SLI or Crossfire dual video card setup.

and this Asus board for $150 if you are considering SLI
