New Mouse

My fellow computer nerds lend me your ears! I'm in need of a new mouse and I request your assistance on deciding. I'm currently using this.

At the moment I'm pulled more toward a trackball mouse (which I've never used before), so I've narrowed it down to two choices.
Logitech Marble -or- Logitech Trackman Wheel
Of course if you think another mouse type would be better please share. I'm open to any ideas.

Edit: Also I'm on the prowl for a new keyboard, currently using this. So any thoughts on a new one are much appreciated.

Honestly, I don't think trackball mouse is ideal for gameing. It sure has it's adventages, but I can never see myself using one. Perhaps if you get used to it, it's OK. But working my fingers constantly just to move my char around could grow old quickly.

If it counts for anything, I vote you just get yourself decent optical/laser mouse.

actually i use the logitech trackman wheel.. great mouse, well balanced you get so used to it that you dont even realise your moving the ball to move the cursor... its just automatic, on a really good side it is pixel accurate meaning you can move pixel by pixel with very little effort...

hmm how can i say this, its pretty much the perfect gaming mouse for me... i would reccomend it to you

My father always used a trackball and I could never get used to it personally, always hurt my wrists.

Id go for the logitech MX1000 personally =) As for a keyboard, check out Microsofts new Natural 4000, its rocks! and its sexy!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823109148

Its VERY comfortable, the keys are very nice, they seemed to be placed perfect, I just love mine. And I code a good part of every day, so yes I do use it a lot. If youre thinking you dont want one of the split keyboards, consider this. If you are going to be doing a lot of typing they are way better, and will even help you type faster. If you do mostly gaming or fingerpecking, then a natural may not be best for you

I agree on the MX 1000 (I have 2 of them) and that microsoft ergo keyboard looks nice. The mouse is nice and once it warns you that your battery needs to be recharged, it still has hours of use left in it. Can't go wrong with the ergo keyboards, guess it just depends on which fancy keys you want with it.

My buddy swears by the G15 I think it is, but he's a FPSer and there's no ergo love with that one.

This is the Mouse I have.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...543155&CatId=0

And this is the keyboard.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...ONTENTID=10717

The mouse has a weight system, so you can make it as heavy or light as you want. And the keyboard is backlit, so you can still see the keys in the dark. Its lit by a blue backlight and it has a screen on the key board that alternates between showing time and date, and system cpu, and ram usage. Plus it has 18 programable hotkeys. And it has three different modes, so its more like 54 programable keys.

I have a dilemma similar to this, I can't decide between the G5, and now the MX-1000
