Adding SPDTool to the list. It is narrow in function, but invaluable if you want to alter the SPD EEPROM on a memory module.

I think I'll add SuperPi.
Checks computer performance by calculating Pi up to a set amount of digits. My computer got 32 mil in 20 seconds. http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...oad-74788.html

I work part time in IT so we have a few fun things we install on the machines.
One I didn't see on your list was ThreatFire. Basically it's a behavioral analysis program that 1) is free and 2) is decent. When I say behavioral analysis I don't mean it tracks down all the free pr0n sites you go to, but rather it looks for abnormal processes (like sending text documents periodically out of port 42498... hmmm... hmmmmmmm). I like it and use it at home. You also might consider adding CCleaner. Oooo, and how about encryption? There's FreeOTFE as well as TrueCrypt. Uhhh... That's all I can think of to add for now. |
