Just Ordered few parts for my upcoming system

I don't plan to do any upgrades for at least 5 years after this, probably longer so I am aiming for high-end parts within my budget of some $1400

OCZ GameXStream 700W Power Supply - Maybe I overdid it with this one, I could get a PS for half that price that is very close to this one. The reason I got this one is because it's quad-sli ready. It has "4" 12v rails at 18Amps each, two of them dedicated to PCI-Express. I will most likely end up getting nVidias dual GPU card and later add another one, so I don't have to worry about not having enough power to run them.

2X Western Digital Sata II (3 GBs/Sec) 80GB HD - this is not that much of a high-end product, preatty cheap, 45 bucks each. I don't have any need for a lot of disc space so two of these in RAID 0 will do just fine for my gaming needs mostly.

G.Skill Extreme DDR 500 (PC 4000) 2GB (2x 1GB) Dual Chnl Kit - I went with DDR 500 instead of cheaper DDR400 for overclocking purposes. I did some research on it and it looks like it will be enough for my overclocking plans to run it at DDR 560.

$440 total with shipping.

What MOBO do you plan on using with that memory?

This is the list of parts that I will be getting

Motherboard: Asus A8N32 - SLI DELUXE - $189 - The reason I went with this board is because of it's stability and overclocking ability. Probably biggest reason is because it is sli x32. I can use two cards in sli set up and each will use full PCIe lane bandwidth of x16, compared to standard mobos that split the bendwidth and use x8 when put in sli.

Processor: AMD Opetron 165 - $327 - Dual core "server" processor (which means very stable and durable), It's just a little bit more expensive then Athlon 64 x2 3800+, and it comes with 2x 1MB L2 cashe. It's stock speed is preatty low, 1.8GHz, but it's overclocking potencial is plain crazy. Some people got it up to 3GHz stable and 2.4 GHz is preatty much guaranteed overclock. At first I plan on O/Cing it to 2.475 GHz and when time comes later, will push it more.

Case: iStar USA Nitro Ax Full Tower Aluminum case - $109 - It's very room. You can mount up to 3 120mm fans (rear, side, front). It comes with air duct on the side, removable motherboard tray (ah how nice will it be to put your motherboard,CPU and everything else on, outside of the box), and a lot more including "tool free" instalation.

Fan: 2x 120mm Silverstone Fan - $16 - Already have one of these, in current system, will take it out to put in new system. This fan alone lowered my overal case/cpu temp by 8 degreez C at idle, even more at load (installed it in front as intake fan, in new case one will be in front one on the side, both intake)

Looks like a great setup to me. Buy me one while you're at it.

You maybe able to find a few of these items on ebay cheaper.

Hehe, building new system from e-bay? nah lol, I'm a little worried when shopping online period. I restricted my shopping to newegg.com only, can't trust everybody (eg. e cost webiste...bunch of rip offs). I would maybe buy a book or sword from e-bay, but never electronic device.

Damn bro. That looks like a serious system!
Does anyone know the recommended specs for AoC, btw?

You wouldn't mind if I steal the specs for this, , this looks like a pc that CAN, and WILL last for 5 years, I'll steal the links and go out and buy this instead of the one I had planned.

also, are all the parts needed there? and is there anything that could be traded up/down for cost/performance, so what's 1 step above and below all of this stuff, since I know everyone just loves digging up pc specs for me

You could probably save few bucks with a little cheaper Power supply, like THIS one that is still very much High-end or THIS one.
Another thing is RAM. You probably wont find better deal for 2x1GB set (cheapest DDR 400 is 151, which makes it very worthy to buy DDR 500 for 30 bucks more), but you can find VERY DECENT 2x512MB set for a lot less, if you think you don't need 2GB (please keep in mind that as things stand right now, it is not good idea to use all 4 RAM slots, meaning using 4 sticks, at the same time, ram speed automaticaly defaults to DDR 333 and you can't do damn thing about it, this is the case with all motherboards)

Another thing is case. Tho I find that case to be preatty inexpensive considering all the features it has. THIS case was originally my choice and I think it can last for long time, plus it has cool side window and side fan, side vent and top fan as well and it comes with Power supply...which you shouldn't use for your high end system, perhaps you could use it on one of your olders systems. Note: Don't go fir Mid Tower, go for Full Tower.

Whatever you do, don't try to save money on your motherboard tho, good motherboard is a must if you want your system to last awhile.

Also, I have not picked a video card yet, that will come in once AoC is around, and i'm waiting for DirectX 10 cards to come to market. I will however get THIS $36 PCIe low profile card for the time being just so I can use my system. Tho the sad thing is, that cheap ass card is about twice as good as the one I have now hahaha.

EDIT: There, you can save $120-$150 with the proposed substitutes w/out really giving up on the high-end aspect of the system.

EDIT 2: I will be getting THIS DVD-Burner. Very inexpensive. 36 bucks with shipping included.
