Highest Specs Game at the moment
What game out there is the most graphically advanced at the moment. I'm not talking about minimum requirements really, I'm more interested at what hardware would you need to "MAX" out all the settings.
I think Battlefield 2 is defenitly on top there. I read few reviews here and there, and it seems that Radeon X800 256MB GDDR3 can max out graphics in BF2, with decent processor and enough RAM of course. So..is there a game out there that would require you to get card that is better than X800 in order to play on "max" settings with good fps and smooth performance? I guess I'm just trying to take a guess what will I really need to upgrade my PC to once AoC goes live. I can't find the quote, but I know I read it somewhere that says something like when company starts developing a game, they usually apply top notch technology avaliable at that time. So I assume AoC shouldn't have graphics higher then BF2, if even that high. Or could I be wrong...I really don't know when they started BF2 tho. hehe I'm going to upgrade my computer as well prior to release of AoC.
Feels kind of weird to pay $1000 just to be able to play one game ;] But I'd have to upgrade it anyway if I want to continue gaming, and now AoC is my main point of focus, so I'll choose to upgrade just prior to release, so I know that I pay less at that time than I'd have to pay for it today, when I have no real need for a better system. wow, did that make any sense at all? o_O

yeah, makes perfect sense. I too am waiting for AoC to be closer to release, I imagine things will be considerably cheaper then than they are now.
I also wonder if AoC will will be utilized for dual core processors. I really want to get Athlon 64 X2 series because I think that's where the future is going, but unless applications take adventage of dual core then you get somewhat shitty results. Right now, I don't think there is any game out there that is designed to take adventage of double core CPUs. I know COD2 had released a patch that utilizes dual core processors, and results are sweet. If AoC plans to release patch to fully take adventage of 64 x2 and such processors, then I'm defenitly going to be getting one of them.
