Beemer's got a brand new bag.... with a pc inside!
so i just got my new PC up and running, here are the specs:
1 ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce SPP 100 ATX AMD Motherboard $179.99 1 XFX PV-T71G-UCE7 Geforce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card $299.00 1 AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Model ADA3800BVBOX $297.00 1 Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD4000KS 400GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive %189.99 oh ya and had to buy a new power supply too, cuz of the 24 pin power connector $130.00put with my old parts: 1.5 gigs of hyperx ddr400 memory (will be replaced later with 4 gigs) a couple of western digital HDDs (one 60, one 160 gigs) so ya what do yall think..... here's how good it's ran so far: counterstrike stress test averaged 118 fps all half-life games run freaking smooth. TES: Oblivion runs freaking smooth the sims 2 (it really is a graphics hog and doesn't look good enough to be) still runs freaking smooth... basically any game i throw at this monster gets chewed up and spit back at me..... followed by laughter............it's dark.......i'm scared....... ROFLso far i'm really happy with this setup, and i hear there's alot of people running this setup, so i'm glad to know i've gone way far past my old setup: KT880 delta fis-r mobo geforce 4 ti-4200 agp 8x (most stable card ever for agp IMO) 1.5 gigs memory plain old WD HDD's and a amd 3000+ processor ya i think it's an improvement... nice rig!
Tho I would suggest that you consider running some (2) of your HDs in RAID for the best possible outcome. I like you mobo (I have the same one hehehe), and your CPU is nice. Dual Core is the way to go. I was thinking about getting that one or Opty 165 and I went with Opty (currently running it at 2.6GHz)

thanks,
Drvanitus: you're gonna have to teach me some about RAID, as i've never messed with it. Hollister: you work for a competitor of ASUS? cool, i used to only buy MSI, but when i decided to go 64-bit, newegg showed some really good and honest reviews. Beemer |
