What is happening?!?!
Grrrr, I just got my computer working after 3 weeks of blood and money involved, and now I want to play some damn Battlefield 2. I installed it and everything and it doesnt open, I click the icon and it doesnt pull it up, it just pulls up Battlefield 2, but in my task list it says its running it. I found that out because I uninstalled it and reinstalled it to see if that would work, but before I could uninstall it I had to ctrl alt delete and cancel the BF2 tasks that were suposebly running... please someone tell me you know what to do I dont want to call anymore support...

if you can get the uninstall working(I suggest a restart first) you have to make sure ALL the registry files are gone, a guide floating somewhere on the ea bf2 forums if you search for it, under like uninstall, or uninstall problems, etc.

I got BF2142 from direct download. Somehow it installed wrong and i had to delete all the registry manually and uninstall the game. After that just reinstalled the game and it worked fine.
Just make sure you restart your computer after every step. Think that was the problem i had the first time. |

Hellrazor,
I had this exact problem some time back and couldn't figure it out for anything.. The only way I was able to fix it was to reinstall the OS from the ground up. Thankfully I was due to a system reinstall....so it was ok. Things are working great now. ![]()

If I was you i would clean my registry using Registery Mechanic or System Doctor 2006. Usually your reg is backing up your old files that you ran with other hardware and it cannot read your new hardware. So clean your machine and your new hardware should work with bf2.
