Problem I'm having with video driver
When I installed the driver, screen went black and I had to go to last known configuration. Anyone know if this can be fixed?
Feel free to ask any questions, I'll provide as much info as needed.

the video card power cord was loose and taking it out then putting it back in fixed the problem initially, but now it's got the same exact problem again after I left it on about 2 hrs before parents turned it off(cooling was working fine).
Now I've tried a different monitor and pulling out power then plugging in and it still won't work. Here's the link to Graphics Card: http://www.evga.com/articles/382.asp

What operating system are you using? is it 64-bit?
download Driver Sweaper, and remove any Nvidia graphics drivers from your system entirely. Reboot. Reinstall graphics driver. If that doesn't do the trick, run the driver sweaper again and remove any nvidia graphics drivers, and download a different set of drivers from either nvidia.com or guru3d.com and try again. |

Well, since the problem occurred when installing a new driver, that seems like a good place to start eh? (ie. that is more than likely the problem, not the power cable)
Going to recommend something similar to what Gorgel said. Download Driver Cleaner Pro Uninstall old video drivers Follow the instructions association with driver cleaner (includes booting into safemode running it) Then install the new drivers for your card. If that doesn't work let us know. |

I'm so exited I finally fixed it. Turns out I needed to get the NVIDIA drivers from nvidia.com. It needed the vista 64-bit driver, but i got tech support b4 looking here. (even though you were right)
o and btw, it now runs WoW 60FPS highest settings, has yet to lag once. Old comp ran 5FPS.

Lol, i guess from now on i shouldn't assume too much with your tech problems. =P
> are you pushing the power button? Its normally green and has a circle on it. The magic pixies inside the computer will then start flying around and spraying pixie dust everywhere. This causes the gremlins at the bottom to sneeze which powers the windmills. This generates the power and thus your computer will turn on. Jk man =P Glad its working. |
