Mouse Problems
I've been using a Logitech mouse since the beginning of time, and I never had a lot of problems till I went with the MX510 YEARS ago, which led me to go through 7 of them. It's always the same crap too, the mouse will randomly freeze after awhile, and then go back to normal, then slowly over time the freezing will start to happen more often, then the mouse becomes unusable. I switched over to MX518, and everything was perfect, the mouse had a great life, and last for quite awhile (only 2 years, but that's way longer than the MX510 ever lasted for me). So eventually the MX518 died the same way, then I got a new mouse, around 3 months ago, an MX518 again, and now today, I started getting the freezing happening while playing CS. It hasn't happened outside of the game as of yet, but to say the least I am extremely pissed off that my mouse is dying after 3 months. This thing costs way to damn much to die after 3 months.
Basically what I'm wondering is if I should even bother getting a Logitech ever again. Should I just get a razer and give up with Logitech, should I send the mouse in and hope they somehow fix it, or give me a new one, I mean, I'm really pissed off and don't want to buy a new mouse, and I'm just looking for some advice on what I should do.

There are plenty of other good mice out there though. I seem to recall the Razor mice getting good reviews. |

well, since you have experienced the exact same problem with 10+ mince, different makes, i assume there is something else the matter.
>You installed the drivers yes? > Are you using a mouspad or some sort of opaque surface? Can lead to mouse confusion >Tried a different USB port? Perhaps the port you are using for your mouse is finickey thats all i got, its 1am now i cant think too well =) |

I've been using a Black Supermat (just a huge cloth mousepad) for around 7 years now. Tried different USB ports, new motherboards, doesn't matter, always the same problem.

That's tricky, though my first urge is to say it's a driver problem. Have you tried using the mouse in CS on someone else's computer? That could help you determine if it's hardware-related (which I don't think it is) or software-related.
You could also see what happens if you use the "base" windows mouse driver. You won't be able to fully utilize your mouse optimally but you should be able to see if there's any slowdown. Also, make sure the slowdown and freezing happens in other programs, and make sure it's not an issue of lag in an online game.
