Well then whats a good build for a motherboard and processor thats Intel (in a cheap but powerful price range) I'd have trouble finding a good motherboard for whatever duo core it would be (leaning toward duo since cheaper) I have to admit its hard to keep up with these things
![]() Someone at work was telling me that Intel is the way to go as well but then he keeps talking about buying some $1000 dollar processor o_O which I'd only pay 160 and below How about: ASUS P5K PRO LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard and Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Conroe 3.0GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail would G.SKILL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory - Retail still work with the motherboard? I'm checking out this one and thinking that it would be better: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor lol here I am already spending more money over the AMD one but the Wolfdale looks so tastey and maybe the GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail what do you guys think of those two?

P45 chipset mobos have been out for a bit.
Newegg.com - Intel P45, Intel P43/P45, Intel Motherboards, Motherboards, Computer Hardware IMO there is no big advantage to P45 over P35. P45 is just an evolution of the P35 chipset. P45 really only brings native DDR3 1600 and PCIe 2.0 support. Neither of which are mainstream (DDR3) or necessary (PCIe 2.0). You will also have to deal with the teething problems inherent in any new chipset. You can get more stability for less cost going with P35. By the time the features of the P45 become necessary for processor support (which is the usual Intel/AMD method of forcing users to upgrade) you will probably be ready for a whole new system anyway. |
