Building a new pc

Thinking about building a pc for the house, so far i found some parts i plan to get but i want you guys opinion on what else


Case - Thermaltake M9 VI000BWS

Motherboard - Nforce MSI P6N 680I dual PCI-E

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHZ

Fan - Zerotherm Nirvana NV120

Hard drive - western digital caviar GP 750 GB

power supply- OCZ StealthXStream 500W power supply

GFX card - not sure yet but it will be a PCI-E based card im sure of


I havent finished with this list but id be happy if you guys could fill me in on opinions

Might want to rethink that mobo/CPU combo. I seem to recall that the 680 chipset does not do a good job of supporting the 45nm processors. Check the CPU support page for that mobo.

Rampage Formula or Maximus II Formula are the 2 main choices for you IMO...

Then get either E8400/E7200 or Q9450/Q9300 Dual/Quad Core CPUs from Intel.

Get either a PC Power&Cooling Silencer 610 or 750 watt PSU, wait for the HD4870s and get 2 for Xfire and youll thank me later.

Also, dont forget to get the 4 of new 750Gig WD Caviar Black HHD for RAID10, best sofware RAID array you can opt for:P
