Windows vista loading webpages incorrectly.

I often load pages on the net and it doesn't load backgrounds or certain buttons or images. Just everything looks white. Also, if i get a popout menu by putting my cursor over a link it often leaves the menu transparent so i see all the words behind the menu aswell making it hard to read the text options presented. If anyone knows how to fix this let me know. i'm using firefox. Also, how do i stop it from asking me if i want to run every application?


Update: it seems to fix the problem when i put my appearance on the window back to vista default, i had it looking like classic windows before. I suppose i can just keep it this way if i can't figure out how to fix it.

To turn off User Account Control

Go to Control Panel --> User Accounts and Family Safety --> User Accounts --> Turn User Account Control on or off --> remove check from box and accept (you will need to reboot afterwards)

Sounds like it is the Aero interface that is messing things up for you. Do you have a strong enough computer to support the Aero visuals? Also, does it happen to you in IE as well?

hmm only happens in classic windows mode. like not vista appearance. and yes happens in IE aswell.

new problem. i cant download limewire because it says "this download has been blocked by your security zone policy". how can i get
around it?

hmm... looks like my IE settings transfered to my internet options in my control panel which in turn started restricting firefox.... d'oh. i fixed it.
