Yeah no one passed it. And prior to it my instructor said he hoped we did fail it because he needed to prove the point that it shouldn't be included in our curriculum. None of us are really upset because we didnt pay for it (at least not directly seeing as how we do in fact pay taxes).

microsoft certs are nice but there are so many paper MSCE's out there make sure you have some solid hand's on experience to back it up.
Cisco certs are gold, if you can pass those brutal tests they are well worth it. As a side note we had one job app here who put down he had passed the CCDA and did not know it's very easy to verify that sort of thing.

lawl at least on my resume ill never have to lie. im in for at least another 4 years of hands on experience. im getting deployed in january and when i get back i hope to retake if not both exchange and server, at least server. and ill soon have access to a lot of toys to train on that many if not most people who take those tests dont

the problem with getting "hands on experience" is most place wont hire you unless you have the very certifications your training for. at least in my state can be hard to find a place that will let you learn as you go.

Good point but one way around that is to take an entry level job and go from there. When I went from the mental health field to IT I ended up doing just that as I worked my way up.

entry level rare to find also. i applied for network entry level and didnt even get a not what we are looking for letter. its like finding a needle in a hay stack. im sure there are some outhere but good luck finding one.

Seems to me that a large number of companies that I deal with (at least here in CA) have plenty of entry level positions and very skilled positions. It's the middle of the road positions that are not to be found.
