i just had to push the reset button on my new computer i built because the screen got a bunch of colorful lines in it and froze. it was weird. wondering if this is a really bad sign? my temperatures were all low i keep them on my screen at all times.

Probably not worth looking too far into it until it starts happening on a regular basis. I'd guess it was just one of those odd computer things. At least thats what i would tell one of my users. "Well, you're not having the problem any more are you? Ok, Closing the ticket" =P

Ya, my new computer would sometimes go random also. Nothing on a regular basis, so not a long-term issue, just a short-term inconvenience.

Sounds like a random Windows fart to me. They happen, 99.9% of the time a re-boot and the problems gone. So long as you are sure your hardware is O.K. then just ignore it unless it starts to occur more often.

If it happens more than about once a month it is probably time to back up your files and do a clean re-install of the OS. Over time Windows gets cluttered and messy with drivers, registry changes, etc... and the best way to restore smooth operation is to do a format and clean re-install.

Video drivers. Do a complete fresh reinstall of them. (ie. run driver cleaner)...report back.

Still wanting to see those windows logs of when the error occurs =)
