yes i am aware, but I have heard very good reviews on this particular chip and in the long run updating/flashing the bios will be worth it

Yeah, the E8400 is a great cpu. The 680i mobos are great too. They just got a bad rep when it turned out they did not support the quad core Yorkfield processors because of late change Intel made to the architecture as part of the 45nm die shrink. Fortunately a BIOS flash was all that was required to enable support for the Wolfdale processors.

yea it won't be such a big deal, I'm more excited about having 1 gig of video ram......originally I was just gonna buy one 512 card and leave it at that and replace it when I needed to but then I was like.........fuck it lets go SLI right off the bat and the 9600 GT got some good reviews, so I'm getting two of em
by the way do you recommend any specific processor fans? and a specific power supply? (with sli enabled it will have to have a rather high watt output)

The Newegg.com - ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks is pretty much the de-facto standard for aftermarket cooling so long as your case will accommodate the physical size of the unit. All copper construction w/fan controller.
$53.99 + shipping On the PSU I would recommend any of these three for your set-up. There are more powerful units on the market but these are more than sufficient for your system. No sense paying more than necessary to run your system. PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous @ 40°C EPS12V Power Supply Newegg.com - PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous @ 40°C EPS12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, cUL, CE, CB, TUV - Power Supplies $109.99 - $30 rebate = $79.99 free shipping CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CE, CB, TUV, FCC, CCC - Power Supplies $109.99 - $30 rebate = $79.99 free shipping OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI 700W ATX12V Power Supply Newegg.com - OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI 700W ATX12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V - Power Supplies $114.99 - $35 rebate = $79.99 free shipping

You should be pleased with both. Some people complain on Newegg about the rebate from OCZ. I have gotten five rebates from OCZ over the years. One for that very PSU. Just make sure you follow the instructions on the rebate form and you will get your rebate. It takes about 6 weeks on average to receive it, but it will come.
You can print your invoice from the Newegg site once your order ships. Just log into your account and one of the links at the bottom of the page will be "Order History/Print Invoice". Click it to pull up a printable invoice. I always fill out my rebate paperwork, address, and stamp the envelope so that once the item arrives it's a simple matter to remove the UPC, toss it in the envelope, and mail it next day so I don't have to worry about forgetting it and missing the rebate time frame.

That should be a nice system once you get it up and running!
